Summer is a chance to kick back, relax and enjoy some serious family time against a backdrop of long days and warm weather.
To help you make the most of this, we have put together top suggestions for things to do this summer – all you have to do is pick your favourite, and prepare to have plenty of fun!
1. Head to the capital
If you live in or near London, why not take advantage of the fantastic transport links? The capital has so much to offer – from museums and galleries to parks and gardens. You could head out for a day trip to one of our beautiful parks such as Windsor Great Park, Epping Forest, or Richmond Park.
Or, if you would prefer something more active, why not try canoeing or kayaking at Hampton Court Palace or Kew Gardens, cycling around Hampstead Heath or Greenwich Park, or even horse riding in Surrey?
2. Head to the races
Whether it’s watching racing on TV or going to see it live, there are lots of great events coming up this summer. Here at Newbury Racecourse, we will certainly be hosting many of the most exciting British horseracing fixtures in 2022, including the Weatherbys Super Sprint and BetVictor Hungerford Day – so why not make a day or even weekend out of it?
3. Go camping
With the sun shining and the temperatures rising, now is the perfect time to get outdoors and go camping. There are loads of campsites available across the UK, with many offering discounts during the school holidays.
If you want to stay somewhere special, why not consider booking an eco-friendly glamping site (glamour camping) instead? These sites come complete with everything you need, including bedding, linen and even cutlery, ensuring that everything you require is right there on hand – all that you have to do is relax and have fun!
4. Take a road trip
There are so many places to explore when travelling by car, whether it’s visiting historic castles like Bodiam Castle or Warwick Castle, taking a tour of famous landmarks like Stonehenge, driving through stunning scenery like the Lake District, or simply exploring new places like the Peak District.
Why not book a road trip today and discover what Britain has to offer? No matter your interests, there will be a great road trip to pique your curiosity, and this can be a great way to explore everything that Britain has to offer.
5. Visit a festival
From music festivals to foodie fests, there are hundreds of festivals happening right across the UK throughout the summer months.
Whether you love rock ‘n’ roll, folk, jazz, blues or classical, there’s bound to be a festival in the area that appeals to you. Some of the best include Glastonbury, Latitude, Reading & Leeds, V Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, Kendal Calling, Secret Garden Party, Creamfields, and Lovebox.
Enjoy the sun!
With so many opportunities to get outside and explore the great outdoors, there is no reason why summer 2022 can’t be one full of memories and fun – it’s time to make the most of the great weather!
